Wow, my SC suit is an ASTRONAUT'S one???
I found this to be hilarious. Take a good look at the “astronaut” suit they used as an example! http://blogs.socsd.org/kguzas/3d-printing/mission-patch/ Yep, that's my own SC flight suit, from just before my third trip to SC. I assume the creator of that blog did a google search and this was the fir...

Re: SpaceCamp (Finally) Coming to Blu-Ray!
I'd buy a copy just for the commentary track. I'd love to hear the insights on that, especially the SC-filmed scenes.

Re: Hurricane Irma?
Yep! We've had regular storm systems come through Huntsville in the past that were much worse. A whole lotta nothing here in Huntsville, thankfully. Thanks, Vincent. I couldn't find much on the Huntsville new about the storm, so I took that as a good sign. According to CollectSpace, KSC's visitor c...

Hurricane Irma?
Does anyone know what effects this storm had on SC? I know it's closed today due to the weather.
I've always wondered what'd happen if a really bad storm or tornado hit that vertical Saturn V mockup. I know it's well anchored but I have a feeling it'd rip the top off of it, at least...

Re: 2017
How did you get an email for it? I think some of us had signed up somehow in the past, as I got that email, too. Wish I could go... three vacations in one year tapped out our travel budget. Yep, my wife and I are planning on a big trip next year, so I am only using a few days this year to visit my ...

Just saw it listed on Netflix last night. I saved it and plan on watching it when I have some time.

This is the second different version of the Alumni database that I've seen. Beats me why SC has to re-invent the wheel so often!blachwk wrote:Here is a direct link to the registration page:

Re: AC Mach III First Timer
I've never seen to AC other than flying the F-14 and F-18 sims from Space Camp, but as a former Army Captain and having spent a lot of time in the field in various conditions (most of them considered unacceptable to human habitation), I'd recommend the following based on my experiences in high-humid...

Re: Solar Eclipse
I found a set of eclipse glasses, but even still I only took quick peaks, even with them (as you can never be too careful with your eyes). I tried to take a photo or two through the lens for the glasses, but couldn't get it to focus with a darn. So cool seeing a tiny sliver of sun as it got close to...
Re: 2018
I was at 'Hoot Camp' last year (Bob Springer was there, too) and there was only one team. I think that's why they're not doing it this year. It worked out great for those of us there as we had Hoot around often (and got to hang with him every night at the bar at the Marriott) and that alone made it ...

Re: Trading Post
I need to go through all the SC stuff I have to see what I'm willing to trade, as I have a lot of duplicate items, especially patches... Mostly, I'm looking for the following in Adult XL size: Early Avirex light blue flight suit (they might not have made them in Adult sizes) "pre-STS51L" s...

Re: Solar Eclipse
We're in the ~90% zone, and whilst I am scheduled to be in the office that day, I plan on getting outside to see it - with my ever-so-simple pinhole camera. Same here, couldn't get the day off (of course). My eye doctor sent an email that mentioned not looking at it directly, then mentioned eclipse...

Re: Online store not working...
Let's face it, even the old site was very poor at showing you what you could get from the gift shop (you could always tell the die-hards at the gift shop at Huntsville, going through the place mumbling to themselves or holding up something to a pal while saying, "Hey, this wasn't on the website...

Re: Space Camp 35th Anniversary Retrospective Video - What Would You Like to See?
Any kind of retrospective should be nostalgic . I think the video should show the humble beginnings, old photos and video clips and memorabilia along with commentary from those who were there. Ed Buckbee, Dr. B, etc. Maybe even have some ex counselors from the early days telling their stories. The ...

Re: Space Camp 35th Anniversary Retrospective Video - What Would You Like to See?
I have only ever been there as an adult and can't really say my life has been affected by SC, even though I've loved the 4 times I've been so far.
I don't think any video I could do other than the slideshows I've done could be of interest to anyone.
