I just wanted to say that I was able to switch my track to Pilot! I'm so excited! Here's to doing new things.....Now, just keep your fingers crossed that the session doesn't get canceled. You know, I think it's weird that the alumni 8-day got canceled. Didn't they start taking reservations in March?...

Differences between 2003 and 2011?

OK. Since I haven't been to adult ASA since 2003, can anyone tell me what kind of changes have happened to the program over the years...especially the MS track. I hope I won't be bored since I've been 3 times already (not counting '91). In 2003, we were the first to play with the Lego Mindstorms. Su...

I think I had most of those same people on my 6-day team too. Yeah, I remember the folks from camper reservations were after them in 2003 to go ahead and sign up for the next alumni camp. I think they got some sort of discount. Yeah, I had asked on the SC Facebook page and they said it was cancelled...

I'M GOING BACK!

Well, it turns out the adult alumni camp has been cancelled for this year, but I signed up for Aug. 21-26. My 35th birthday is the 24th, so it's a great birthday present! Plus, my parents will pay for me to stay at the Marriott. Even better! I'll be mission specialist for the fourth time, but oh wel...

2011 Adult Alumni Camp

Hey gang! I know I haven't been here in years, but I'm back! Just wondering if there are any spaces still open for the Adult Alumni 8-Day camp in October? I'm going to call on Tuesday, but I thought someone here might know. My mom said she would pay for me to stay in the Marriott instead of in the d...

Nasty Editorial on Teacher in Space "Stunt"

I found this online and it makes my blood boil. The NASA Space Shuttle And Roman Circuses By: Patrick Barron, The Bulletin 08/17/2007 sincerely pray that by the time you read this short essay the Space Shuttle Endeavour has returned safely to earth. This decrepit and seriously flawed vehicle is once...

I'm sure its too late to get into a session this fall...besides, my family is going to Disney for the first time in December! :)
Hi Richasi!

I usually register in February for s Sept. adult session. The only problem with that is you sometimes miss specials that get offered in late spring.

2005 Dates?

Does anyone know when the 2005 dates will be posted? I'm not going to camp this fall and I'm already kicking myself about it. I want to register for 2005 as early as possible....I'd really like to do the 8 day alumni or 12 day programs (if they'll have that for adults), but even a regular week would...

I think someone above said they didn't want to do adult camp because adults don't get the alumni camp. From what I understand, there will be an adult alumni session in October...and the people who will be going are very devoted to Camp, some having gone as many as 12 times to Adult ASA. Also, the re...

How Much Reading?

A co-worker of mine has an 11-year-old son who would love to go to Space Camp. The problem is he has an extremely hard time reading and is in special ed. for all reading subjects. How much reading would he have to do in Space Camp? I haven't seen the latest book they give the kids at that level. Is ...

Re: the 8-day Adv. Adult session...from what the counselors have said in e-mails to my team from 2003, it will be the same thing as what the kids are getting...24 hour EDM and all. As for the 5-day adult program in general, I'd say it's very similar to the kid's sessions as far as what goes on, but ...

That's great news about the camera! I heard about it last week, but they weren't quite ready to try it out yet. I *did* get to try out the MS2 helmet lights. They are very cool! This was my first time doing the Superman harness, and I must admit that I got a little sick to my stomach the first time ...

ASA Update

Hello again gang! Well, it's day 3 here in Huntsville. We have combined our two teams into one of 16. We've asked if we can do a 12-hour EDM instead of just 6, but they said the new Enterprise software (which is very cool, btw) is not ready to handle anything longer than 6 hours. Next year, they wil...

Hey from ASA!

Hey gang! Greetings from Camp! We have discovered the computer lab and are happily hacking away. Everyone I've met so far are returning which is great. Ricky, I really wish you were here. You'd have a blast with this group. I'll try to post again later in the week.

Thanks Benji! I'm in Georgia, slightly southeast of Atlanta, and actually, Huntsville's temps. are higher than ours right now. Go figure. I'm packing t-shirts and a sweatshirt or two.

Leaving for ASA on Sunday!

I just wanted to say bye, gang. I'm leaving for Adult ASA on Sunday. I'm having trouble deciding what to pack because I've never been this late in the year before. Brrr.... Should be interesting. I'm going to try to SCUBA this year (snorkled last year), but my health forms my not be up to date enoug...

Counselors please help!

Can one of the counselors here tell me what time check-in is for the Adult ASA on Oct. 5? For the life of me I can't remember! Or, better yet, what's the earliest I can check-in? I want to be sure of getting a bottom bunk this time. Thanks.

Hi Jason :)

So, one day a show came through Atlanta called Les Miserables and two people decided to go. Can you think of which two?

Thus, here we sit in front of an eMac thinking back to the glory days of Camp knowing that SOON we'll return.

Au'revoir!

Just busting your chops :)

Actually, back in the early 90s, they used to have TVs set up in the cafeteria that showed the flight deck and MOCR of one of the sims so that visitors could watch a mission in progress. It was very cool.
