Just got a new "old" one, this has to be one of the oldest ones out there. I'd been hoping to get one of the old black Camp patches and totally lucked up on this as it included the wings as well, and it cost me next to nothing! *Made by Avirex, which was a trendy clothing line for p...

Lin, I think we're both good. I called and asked today, they told me there 18 people already signed up for my weekend and the nice lady there said she didn't see any unusual sign-up numbers for any of the adult sessions. She said adult sessions hardly ever get cancelled unless, "something catas...

How common does it happen? My wife just this moment asked me to commit to the airline ticket to get the best deal with our mileage points.
This is my one shot at SC for god knows how longer in the future,,,

I guess with the whole commercial launch office at KSC now, maybe that's how the kids get into space. It'd be easier to get NASA to work on such a film if it wasn't the focus of NASA that made the screwup. I'm surprised they allowed the original movie to be made, honestly.

Haven’t heard anything lately. I’ve heard of re-writes, which is NEVER a good thing to hear about in a movie (seriously, I dare you name one really good movie that went back for major re-writes). All that said, I really can’t see how the plot of the original movie could possibly be followed today. I...

That thumping sound you're all hearing to the northwest is me banging my well-worn noggin against my desk. For the life of me, I cannot understand why there are no good current photos of the sim areas or even mention of what is going on at the sims at SC this year. I'm scheduled to go in September, ...

The only thing I could find shows some items being constructed in 2010 and nothing else. Is there any photos online from this year that shows what the sim area is like now?

Oh, and they need to get the X-15 back. Up until the late 90s, we had an X-15 mockup in the rocket park. I think its at Wright-Patterson AFB now. I'd love to know the story of how this one got away. It's actually at the Evergreen Museum in Oregon (hanging nearby the Spruce Goose's left wing). I've ...

Still shuttle-based training at SC in 2012?

I have yet to read anything on if the training this year is still based on the shuttle or not. Seeing that the shuttle is now history as of last year, I was wondering if SC has kept up with that and perhaps shifted to Space Station-based training scenarios. I'm going to SC this fall and was wonderin...

Yeah, unless someone saw it happen or the shooter is dumb enough to brag about it later, there's no way they're going to find them.

Someone took a pot shot at the Saturn V today...

I looks like someone shot the Saturn V this morning. Are there any wildlife areas around there? It is hunting season, and a high-caliber bullet can travel an awfully long way when fired at the right upward angle. I know this because I got shot once in the Army, from a bullet fired on a training rang...

Re: 30th Anniversary of Space Camp

I was wondering if they were going to do anything for the 30th. If you go, please take photos of the retro uniform display, I’d love to see that but there’s no way I can go (I’m already scheduled for adult camp in September). I wonder if they’ll make 30th anniversary patches like they did for the 25...

All of the above now make their living touring Sci-Fi and Star Trek conventions, where they hawk autographs for $10 each, except Jinx, who now resides in the abandoned missile silo with the recovered pieces of Challenger. Heh heh, you have a point, they'd all do well on the autograph circuit today....

What happened after "Spacecamp" took place?

I watched my DVD of the movie today for the heck of it, hadn't seen it in a very long time. I often wonder what happened to characters after the movie was over. Here's my take on a few things that likely happened: All the crew were awarded astronaut pins by NASA but only after congresional review wh...
