Campers who care about space...

I made a post about this topic over a year ago, but I think it's a well known fact that <20% of campers are "space nerds" (in a good way). I have observed this at SC and SA. I was actually bullied for liking space at SA. Of course, SA kids are more prone to bullying due to their middle sch...

ASA Mission Specialist

I might get the chance to go back to camp one last time before I graduate high school in 2013. I've been looking at the Mission Specialist track. What are the missions like? Do you have roles like Commander, Pilot, etc, or do kids from Pilot Track fill those? I also read to do the SCUBA, you might b...

Post-Shuttle?

I think this has been brought up numerous times on here, but what are they gonna do post shuttle? Are they gonna do Orion once (or if) it starts? It might be cool if they could set up historical tracks, like, Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo, but that would make for interesting team sizes, or a mission e...

EAA 2009

I was just at Airventure yesterday. I tried a full motion flight simulator, and I almost got airsick! The WhiteKnight 2 landed. Virgin Galactic had a setup, and Richard Branson was just standing in a small tent!

Re: Space Geeks

Also, when you start attending the adult camps, you will find that all of the attendees are space geeks like yourself. I just hope that won't end, especially with a reality show of some sort. I'm a Celebrity, Get me out of here, Space Camp edition. Rod Blagojevich rides the MAT, and his hair stays ...

Hoot spoke while I was at camp. Everyone thought Story Musgrave was a let down, after hearing Hoot speak. Hoot is cool, story is kinda weird.

I think "Good Campers" actually want to be there, whether they care about space or not. But I think it's bad that parents just dump their kids there, especially when the kid dosen't want to go. I had to beg to go, and space is my thing. But the parents who dump kids there could just send t...

I had one about when I went to camp and my counselor told me to call him Orville. Then we went into a room about robert godard and early planes crashing. :? :? This is creepy. Since I was in Space/Aviation track, they counselors had callsigns, and in the dream, the counselours nickname was orville....

Is it just me...

Yes. I know this is my first post in 2 years. But, is it just me, or do most kids that visit Space Camp not have a lot of interest in space? The first time I went, there were only 3 kids on my team who actually cared about space. The second time, I was the only one on my team who cared about space, ...

Of course we might have nuts (not neopagans, just nuts) look up at the asteroid in 2029 yelling "TAKE ME RAAAAAAA!" at the rock.
