I'm planning on going into the Air Force Academy. When I'm done serving, I might apply. If I become an astronaut, my real goal is to leave Earth orbit. I'd like to walk on the Moon, or even Mars.

Article

I found a good article about America that relates to the STS-107 disaster. It's really long, so I uploaded it. If you want to read it, it's here: http://www.biggestpaininthebutt.com/ssb.rtf. Enjoy.

I've been Flight 5 times (three in ASA, including the EDM, once in FL, and once in Academy). I can't get away from it. Even when I want something else they stick me there. The only other job I've been was Booster/Prop in Academy.

I just saw an ABC exclusive with the best video of the breakup over TX. It was from a military helicopter in the area on a training mission.

That is very cool! You guys put a lot of work into it. I think it qualifies as an amature movie with all that work, home movies sounds like you spent a day or two on it in your back yard.

PAO is sometimes grouped with SHPI and SIPI. I'm reading Krafts book now, too. In real life, the PAO is much more important because the press has to bring stuff to the world. In camp sims, the PAO is just repeating stuff that everyone knows. In ASA, if you get a ton of anomalies like my group did, t...

8O WOW! :D Very sweet! 8) I made a short film about space travel. I made a DVD out of it. I'll try to upload it to my site in a few days so y'all can watch it. It's really good. What happens in the movie? I have an idea for a movie about space camp. Its a comedy based on my most recent visit. Perhap...

Except for the PDA post in the Hab (which has 10 pages!), this post has the most replies. It certainly should. I've heard of and seen photos of the AS-204 fire (Apollo 1 test) and the STS-51L disaster, but I was alive for this one. It's not something I learned in history, it really affects me. The i...

My adventures in Space Camp: Advanced Academy Dec 29 2002 till Jan 3 2003, Space Academy 2 times July 1998 and Aug 1999, and Florida Space Camp in May 1997.

Those are all the details I have.

Risk

Everyone accepts the risks. None thought anything would actually happen, and it's terrible that it did. But the possiblity is always there and they know that. NASA's saftey record is amazing if you think about it, but we knew that it is impossible to go forever without people dying.

I'm actually considering going to the Air Force Academy. It sounds hard to get in though, you have to be nominated by a congressperson or the vice president.

Time to pick up the pieces...

It's now Wednesday. The flags are back at full staff (except in FL, where the Governor ordered them at half-mast until Friday at sundown), the investigation is in full swing, and while we still mourn the last crew of Columbia, we must continue in their memory, adding them to the ranks of the STS-51L...
