Cool
I'm glad to see it continue, too. I guess I'll have to become a teacher now...

A quick search will reveal cheaper prices than Amazon.com. Epinions compares prices on the movie, which is great (see http://www.epinions.com/mvie_mu-1019502).

Camp KSC
Apparently, it used to be called Space Scholars Camp and it's been around since '98, but only in Summer and Spring break. Check out these links:

I just rented it a Blockbuster. Only a few stores have it, but you can find out which ones on their website, http://www.Blockbuster.com

Photos
Again, great photos. I see you posted contact info for your team. That reminds me. We all in Von Braun wrote our contact info on a sheet of paper. Yellow Fever  forgot to run them off, so he said he'd e-mail us everyone's info. If anyone sees or has contact with Brent Wong (or Carlos, h...

Rocket Boys/October Sky
Rocket Boys/October Sky is a great book. It is much better then the movie.
I actually checked out Kraft's book when I checked out Krantz's, but I haven't started it yet. I bet it will go great with Failure is Not an Option.

If you want to read a good book about the beginnings of Mission Control, try Failure is Not an Option . It is written by Gene Krantz, who you may remember as flight director of Apollo XIII, as well as many other missions. In the book, Gene recalls a NASA much different from the high-tech, very redun...

What ApolloXI means
When you land at Kennedy 33, you pass over a river and then red/white markers before the runway. What Apollo means when he says backwards, he means he landed on the opposite side of the runway. He doesn't mean tail-first, which would be kinda weird.LB206 wrote:How do you go the wrong way down the runway?

STS-107
I've been trying to see 107 (the Columbia launch) for months. When they had that problem with the fuel lines they bumped it back a lot in order to keep from falling too far behind on the ISS. Now, I'm stuck with four tix on a crappy date.

Kid from St. Pete.
Some news reports are linking this to a crash last year about the same time in Florida by a 15-old. The kid who crashed in Tampa was an Osama sympathizer. He wanted to crash into Central Command at MacDill AFB, but if you've seen ariel views of it, you'd see that everything is camoflagued (pardon m...

New year's contest
On New Year's Eve, there was a contest to dress up your conselor as a holiday icon. We in Von Braun won  . We dressed  Andrea  up as an angel. This probably isn't funny if you aren't a counselor or friend of  Drea's  , but people in the cafeteria were crackin...

New year's camp
I went last week. To celebrate the new year, everyone went to the cafeteria. We had a contest to dress up our conselors as holiday icons. We dressed Drea up as an angel, which won and got a lot of laughs. We watched the ball drop at 11 (it was midnight on the East coast, don't tell the little kids)....

Von Braun Week 14 02-03
We had a great session. My teammates were great, but we wouldn't have had near the fun we did without Brent and Andrea. We had a blast, especially with the EDM. The whole week was great, and it snowed! On New Year's Eve, there was a contest to dress up your conselor as a holiday icon. We in Von Brau...
