Re: Werner von Braun

Well there is no evidence that he really WAS a Nazi. True, he worked for the Nazi war machine and was responsible for some very bad things for that reason, but he was "hired" because of his rocket building abilities. I'm sure he would have been shot if he had refused. He kept files of his ...

Well if it is still so cold in the dorms, you might want to wear it to bed. :-) --des Believe me when you are down here in summer you will want to wear your flight suit as little as possible. Mission and grad time is probably your best time. Wear it much more it will get really ripe in this heat and...

This guy, Jim, who makes shuttle mock ups says that really only one mock up at Houston moves either. So the really typical sim experience actually is stable, with lots of anomolies thrown in when they are ready.

Me too, Dan. Esp. Next Gen. I didn't like DS9 when it came out but I enjoy it sometimes now in syndication. I also liked Voyager and Trek Classic. I even liked Enterprise. I esp. liked the theme with the collage of past (and presumably future) space missions. But I wondered if, since I liked it, tha...

Well from the stuff I have read here. I am guessing there are more than a few Asperger kids. :-) I am guessing some of YOU are Asperger kids. (It takes one to know one, I should point out.) You should have said DIAGNOSED. :-p Well I am glad they are working on the movie. At least the movie is more a...

Yeah sad but true. It seems to me that some of it would be ok enough. I don't know why not the old test stands and so on. Also there are the buildings with the underwater stuff. When I was there there was a mock of space station. We didn't get near any military stuff to my knowledge.

But how about the image section of hab 1.

Ok, I have flickr link but have no idea if this will work for ya'll.

It kind of does put Space Camp in a bad light, showing it as a typical bureaucratic organization (but I suppose they could soften that a lot-- make the problem the school district and so on and disbelief rather than resistance from Space Camp.) Btw, I think they have changed their image from a group...

My own little "space camp"

It's been fun, if exhausting. I have 9 boys 4th-6th grade. The simulator (or part of it) comes Friday. So far we have: built and launched rockets; built K'Nex Mars' bases; done an egg drop; grown crystals; and I have lost track, etc etc. Today we went out to a rocky area and did a simulated Mars roc...

I know there are so many people involved, but perhaps they should at least do the tours for the ASA and adult programs??

I thought they were wonderful. And Johnson does their tours.

Are you speaking of little kiddo shirts from SC vs SA or ASA? As I don't think you would ever be able to fit into *those*. I was thinking maybe you were mid 20s and were speaking of HS shirts. I think you'd actually have to shrink to get into those. But I don't have clothes I had as a kid. Of course...
