Where are you?

Given the quietness of the board I thought I would reply to this again. The HoF event was only a few weeks ago and the first [hopefully not last] AC grad was inducted [WAY TO GO, SAFETY!]. There have been former trainees from back in day when I was a counselor now working as counselors themselves. A...

Where is Gordo?

Gordo rarely stops by the forum. Not because he doesn't enjoy it, but he's typically busy with other pursuits. He does stop by from time to time, typically when he hears of some interesting post or has something thoughtful or interesting he wants to share. He's also had trouble with referring to him...

Describe Aviation Challenge

If you only had two or three words, how would you describe Aviation Challenge? Or what two or three words make you think of AC when you hear them?

For example, mine would be "the barn" or "the lake" or "the beefer".

That was a reward for counselor of the week for Intermediate / Mach III Counselors as well as others in the program. I know Spanky flew a couple of times, Joker as well. Not quite. I seem to recall one counselor in particular who was 1 shot shy of having and ACE (under European rules... 5) and stil...

My point of view

All, If you will allow me to claim a somewhat-disinterested-third-party perspective* I submit the following. I was there in "the heyday" 10 years ago. I was part of the "Black Knights" I took pride in the fact that "We" did not need presenter staff to teach our kids, or...

Should?!? Offered?!? As if there is truly any choice in the matter! Only wings of a golden variety are those which have become tarnished through lack of use and/or ill-fated reputation.

This same counselor (or a clone, there were many) was also tasked with going to a home improvement depot to retrieve 5 gallons of prop wash.

Forum Wings

What's the deal with the wings in the profile information next to each post? Who would actually pin on a pair of gold wings? No real man flies with gold wings.

She's referencing a book by the title Boyd by Robert Coram. It's the story of the USAF fighter pilot who changed modern combat and had the ear of the Marine Corps.

I also seem to recall an event involving needing to move a desk from one B-52 office to another. In order to move said desk certain tools were required to disassemble the desk to get it through the door. My recollection is not the most precise, but you should get the idea. Standard disclaimer applie...

SkyWarriors was discontinued for non SpaceCamp reasons

Others would be able to provide better detail. But the Sky Warriors program was canceled due to the company running Sky Warriors (out of Atlanta) ceased operations due to insurance problems and a mishap not involving customers.
