Re: vintage Space Camp memorabilia!

I thought this would a good time to bring this older thread back to life. (Being the 50th Anniversary of the landing on the Moon). I have been going through my Space Camp items and found this shirt. Never worn, still with the tags on. I realize it has the lunar rover on it, so is not 'Apollo 11' but...

Re: Enterprise - Silent Auction

You beat me to the punch on this post and these specific silent auction items. If the Enterprise is going away, I am truly saddened. I am hoping that either the vertical stabilizer needed to be replaced due to damage or old age, or they are just phasing out the aft fuselage section to create space f...

Re: 2019?

Can I ask a silly question? Where are you seeing the week long adult session in Nov? I'm not seeing it on the website? Thanks. - JP It is not listed off of the 'main' Space Camp website or even via the drop down menu. You must click the 'book now' button on the website, then you login with your 'Mi...

Re: 2019?

Hopefully, USSRC was just out of the right name tags and separate shirts because somewhere there was a breakdown. Although giving the same shirt to everyone saves money, it's different than having your own unique group shirt. When we went on our Panama Canal cruise, I was disappointed that they had...

Re: 2019?

It is hard to believe that a week ago at this time we were in Huntsville as part of Team Magellan for the 3 day Adult Space Academy. How time flies when you are there! Our team won the 'Outstanding Team' patch. Another adult team won the 'Commander's Cup' patch which was for the best missions. As pa...

Re: 2019?

USSRC posted on Facebook about openings for the Memorial Day weekend camp. I looked at that webpage and it seems to indicate that you perform 1 mission, an EDM, during the camp. (I'm guessing a 3 hour.) Does anyone know if that's correct? For what it is worth, my wife and I will be attending camp n...

Re: 'Space Shuttle Mission' simulator 2007

Update: I did get it to work on a Windows 10 computer. Now I just have to work less than 65 hours a week, so I have some time to fly missions. Believe it or not, the design group still replies to emails even though the sim is 2007 era. No word on the second version that was promised in 2014, but it...

Re: 2019?

2019 is going to be a busy year at SC for my family. As mentioned previously, my wife and I will be attending Adult Space Academy. Then a few weeks later, my oldest daughter will be attending Space Academy through the Girl Scouts Destination Program. The ladies in my life were wondering what the sch...

Re: 2019?

My wife and I will be going to a 3 day Adult Space Academy in May. Due to a job change and other things going on career wise there is no way we could do it on our actual anniversary so this was as close we could get. (Which was only a couple weeks early anyways). It was a mutual gift we bought for e...

Re: Movie patch, real or replica?

I also was an active bidder on that patch. It is a great piece! thanks, I actually got a second offer on it, which leads me to believe that either they had two of them, or the person who won backed out. I have curtailed my space camp collecting, for the most part, but this was the one thing I wasn'...

Re: 2018

The initial Hoot Camp generated a lot of excitement and interest. It was a great value for its price yet there was no way that there was going to be another loss leader like that. I feel that it led to inflated expectations at USSRC regarding future adult attendance and for possible attendees regar...

Re: 2018

I agree. My feeling is that attendance is low due to the changes made to keep prices down, i.e., fewer and shorter missions plus shorter "weeklong" camps. (BTW, that's my interpretation of why sim time is down and camps are shorter.) It also maybe low because the generation raised on spac...

Re: 2018

Ugh, my reply was deleted again (twice). The short version: There used to be alumni camps for youth and adults, much like the elite programme. They built on skills, had longer and more detailed missions, and some unique lectures. They made a great template for more complex corporate or adult camps,...

Re: 2018

Has anyone noticed on the SC website, there is now an "Advanced Space Academy Elite" available? They have it listed for 15-18 year olds and is only available for Advanced Space Academy Graduates. I would love to know if there will be such a camp offered for Adults (over 18+). I would be cu...

Re: Movie patch, real or replica?

I also was an active bidder on that patch. It is a great piece! I do not even have any of the 'reproduction' movie patches so was not afraid to put a higher bid on something like that. None the less, atleast after losing out on the auction I see it went to a good home and kept some money in my pocket.
