Re: 2019?

Email USSRC and ask for one... I've done that in the past.

P.S. I checked and the one I have is a year old. I am unable to attach it here as its pdf file extension is invalid.

Re: Space Center Fighting Order

Thanks, Wes for all your work on the timeline and the other articles. It makes me wonder what else slips through the cracks.

Re: Lego movie voice actors go to Space Camp

Only an alum would know what it really should mean. and there's 750,000 + of them... I know plenty of people who consider the Right Stuff Award to be sort of a joke anyway, either given to the 'cool kid' in the team or the one with a sob story. You forgot as a participation award so that every team...

Re: Space Center Fighting Order

Thanks, Wes! I had thought your website had gone away but Jackie D sent me the link. I enjoy reading about the meetings and getting a feel for what may be coming down the pipe. I wonder how many folks remember Mike Wing. He was a con man, for sure. Told people what they wanted to hear with no real p...

Re: Lego movie voice actors go to Space Camp

BTW, I thought handing out a Right Stuff Award just cheapened it further.

P.S. I understand that they paid a $2,500 location fee for the one day shoot so I guess that's the going rate for a Right Stuff Award.

Re: 2019?

I would like to yet given your experience with the last weeklong camp, i.e., 3 missions totaling 5 hours, I am very hesitant. Why set yourself up for frustration? Now if they want to do an Advanced schedule like I did in 1993, I might be in. (Sorry, I have that schedule in a jpg and it's too large t...

Re: Lego movie voice actors go to Space Camp

I recorded it last night and saw it this morning. They did the centrifuge, multiaxis, went up on the arm and in the sling for EVAs, piloted the shuttle, all under the watchful eye of Hoot. The usual celebrity stuff apparently, no 12 hours of research scientist in a station module doing child level e...

Re: 2018

In a way, you are correct. One thing I forgot to mention is that right now, Space Camp attendance in the youth programs is B O O M I N G . The last two years or so, Camp programs have been booked to the max, to the point of having staff shortages during peak times. So as an administrator, if you ha...

Re: 2018

Currently Advanced Space Academy is listed at $1199 and the Advanced Space Academy Elite is listed at $2099. That is quite the cost difference and I would like to know what the $900.00 difference gets you. LOL You can ask and they will answer you in a general way. The main differences readily appar...

Re: 2018

With the low attendance at the last few adult weeklong camps, I wouldn't expect to see an adult alumni camp come available any time soon. I agree. My feeling is that attendance is low due to the changes made to keep prices down, i.e., fewer and shorter missions plus shorter "weeklong" cam...

Re: 2018

Has anyone noticed on the SC website, there is now an "Advanced Space Academy Elite" available? They have it listed for 15-18 year olds and is only available for Advanced Space Academy Graduates. I would love to know if there will be such a camp offered for Adults (over 18+). I would defi...

Re: 2018

The first people who send back the form get their preferred mission positions. Another way to do it would be to assign the positions based on who turned in their money first. LOL As much as I like first come, first served, I have enough work experience with it regarding holiday scheduling to know t...

I had a comment identical to majtom7 but HabForum is doing funny things only phone and wouldn't let me post it. Braids, you, too? I've written posts, hit preview, had to sign back in, and start all over. I now copy before hitting preview so I can just paste and submit. (and yes, it just happened ag...

Re: 2018

Just playing Devil's Advocate here: Who is willing to front the $24K or more for a corporate camp, trusting that you will get repaid promptly without anyone dropping out? And if someone does drop out, that everyone else will pay more to cover the additional cost without anyone else dropping out? I s...

Re: 2018

Still, if they ever listed a SC session that was all about the sims, I'd love to do that! I would be interested in something like that, too, depending on the number, length, and mix of missions, i.e., shuttle vs. Orion. I once tried to cost something like a Manned Space Camp out. USSRC wanted to di...

Re: 2018

I think the rover activities tie in engineering and programming - two very big and important elements of spaceflight and exploration. You might be able to do it at home, but how many people actually do? I still think these activities are valuable additions to the camp programme. Engineering has alw...

Two one-hour missions, then the "LDM" was only 3. 5 hours total mission time...<SMH> Speaking for myself, if I knew that we would only get 5 hours mission time for a "week" (really a 4 1/2 day) long program, I might not register in the first place. No wonder they keep a tight li...
