Re: Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

For me, Spring Break is in March, so that's when I'm going.

Re: Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

I think it sounds really cool to be with people who are enthusiastic! I bet it will be a lot of fun. I certainly won't mind being one of the youngest, I just hope it doesn't make people want to leave me out. :? (Also, I see you're from Chattanooga, same here!)

Re: Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

My mom got me the weekend as an early Christmas present, so I'll take what I can get. If I go again in the future, maybe even next spring or winter break, I'll try to opt for the 4 day (or longer if it's offered). Hopefully I'll still have enough time to enjoy everything.

Re: Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

Yeah, it does seem kind of short. That's really too bad. But it will definitely be nice to be back even just for a weekend. They also sent me a notice in the mail that they are hiring. I might, in the future, try to be a counselor. That would probably be an immense amount of fun.

Adult Camp Vs. Advanced Academy

So, I went to Advanced Space Academy 3 times, but now that I'm 19 I'm going to try out the 3 day Adult Space Camp (Over Spring Break). Can anyone tell me what some major differences between ASA and the Adult camp are? I was also wondering what the age range usually is. No matter what, I'm super exci...

Re: Pamper pole area 51

Usually they have the state's teacher of the year represent the state so I haven't gotten to do anything like that, but it looks like a lot of fun for them to dress up, and everything. I haven't gotten any applications yet either but I think you need to be 21 now to be a crew trainer. School will be...

Re: Pamper pole area 51

It'll be hard to beat the second time. :D It'll also be my 3rd time going to International camp. I've never not been to international camp, so I'm not sure how the regular session compares. I think since I'm going to college in Huntsville I might try to be a crew trainer or lifeguard at Space Camp i...

Re: Pamper pole area 51

I've done the zip line and rock wall and they didn't seem bad. For some reason my knees just get shaky at the pamper pole. All of the classes, building rockets, and dippin dots are worth it though. Not to mention all those nights staying up late with my room mates. The people I meet at space camp ar...

Re: Pamper pole area 51

It's this telephone pole that's about 30 ft high. You have to climb to the top and jump off, but there's not really a platform so it takes a lot of balance and grip to pull yourself up. It's awful so I always volunteer to go first to get it over with.

Pamper pole area 51

I recently turned 18 so this summer will be my 3rd and probably last time going to camp. I'm super excited but the thought of having to climb the pamper pole a 3rd time makes me cringe.

Re: Just got back!

It was even better than last year, and that's pretty hard to do! I'll definitely go next year. I'm pretty sad though, because it will be the last year I can go to advanced Academy. :( I didn't represent my state; there were a lot of people from Tennessee this year. Nothing too exciting happened duri...

Just got back!

I just got home from my second year of Advanced Space Academy (during international week) and it was the most fun I have ever had! I am so glad that Space Camp exists and that kids from all over the world have the amazing opportunity to take part in the adventure of a lifetime. Camp was amazing. We ...

Re: Camp Nostalgia

Anomalies are so fun. I had one where I had to be afraid of the dark while at the same time they gave someone else one where they were light sensitive and couldn't have the lights on.

Re: International Camp 2014

To be honest, I really loved meeting so many great people from around the world. That was so amazing. I can't wait to go back and meet even more great people. I also love all the time I get to spend at the rocket center too. It almost feels like a second home now. :)

Re: Back from Advanced Academy!

hmm, we could use aluminum foil of course, tarp, zip-lock bag, duct tape, foam, and rubber bands. It was a tough experiment. :D
