Re: Smell

Late to this conversation but there is a perfume called "Twilight Woods" (either Bath & Beauty Works or some generic knock off)- and it smells I swear legit like the Hab. I haven't figured it out. Sweet disinfectant? I'm not sure but I love it.

Re: Are counselors allowed to use the sims in down time?

A bit late to the post, but I second what Boomerang said, that would imply we had free time! We worked fairly continuous shifts. That said, we also had a whole month of training so we got very familiar with everything before we taught it- and learned more as time went on too. I'm not sure if it was ...

Six Clicks

I haven't posted in a while, but thought this might be fun to throw up here: Pretty sure many people here are familiar with Wiki Wars or the Wikipedia game, where you start at one page and have to work your way through links (keep it under 6) to a second page. My coworkers and I tried a few years ag...

Wow, I just found this thread again. I worked at camp in '09 and love all the counselors I worked with.
When I went as a camper (a decade ago!) I remember Joel (obviously), JJ, Drew, Arminda, Brandon, Krispy and Brent, and all of them were awesome.

Kimberly: Ag! I started to post a reply, but it got lengthy! So I'll have to sum up. Most counselors are in their mid 20s, the youngest I met was 19 and the oldest I met were in their 40s. Most people tend to be seasonal, but some stay for longer (and some even for years!) I trained in January of la...

Boomerang: Thank you! That's very helpful because I was really confused as to how that worked. I'm writing from my new laptop, so the desktop issue has been relieved. I know we are not allowed to use cell phones overnight working but are they allowed when we are not working (since as an RA we do liv...

20 Questions...or at least 8 to start with

What is the MCC like? I heard there is more emphasis on the station now, since the shuttle is being retired in 2010. I suppose it would be difficult to have sims for any Aries type missions yet but do they? How many people are there generally to a team? The teams I am used to had 16-18 people but th...

Re: Anomalies

We had an anomaly during the 6-day Adult Advanced Academy several years ago that even the sim-coms weren't expecting. I was the pilot in the process of rescuing two MSs who had passed out due to oxygen leaks when the fire alarm went off. It was the fire alarm for the entire training center so our E...

We had a tornado hit MOCR once. And meanwhile a lot of problems were happening on BOTH the shuttle and station. So we came back to havoc. It was great. No one died!
Also there was the time when I was in MOCR and had a breakdown...and my buddy gave me "valium"...:-D

I was actually going to get a Barbie today and make a little lab coat for her (kind of as a statement since I generally don't like the stereotypes she creates for women)...but I didn't find one that I liked, so I gave up the idea...but SCB has possibilities.

Back after a long break...

It's been awhile since I've been on here.
Just wondering, has anyone else had a Space Camp Reunion? Every year for oh, the past 4 or 5 years my group has thought about it but it's never followed through- any success stories?
