Neat. There's really not much out there with the old logo in that condition.
I'd never seen one of these before, either.

Re: The Future of the Aviation Challenge Bubble

As I understand it, Pathfinder is still roped off when one of the control surfaces (wood, of course) broke off and landed underneath, thankfully not hitting anyone. If something that high profile hasn't been fixed in so long, what hope does the AC dome have right now, especially when they just went ...

Re: "For All Mankind"

As I badly wanted to see the WW2 movie "Greyhound" I took advantage of the free week and risked the credit card info. I just deleted the membership yesterday. But after we watched that movie, which I liked, and the series, "The Morning Show," which I thought was well written, I then had to watch thi...

Re: A Sad Day Indeed...

How can you condemn a railroad car, unless it's infected with black mold or something? You can strip it down to the metal and start over. I'm in RR preservation and have never heard of any RR equipment being condemned before. You can rebuild almost anything from just a few metal pieces...

yet there are a lot of alumni out there, too. How much would $1, $2, or even $5 from each of them raise?
You mean other than the ones who donated over $750,000 of this amount?
I'm pretty sure the tooth fairy sure didn't donate the other half...

Name plate on the Vice President's SC jacket?

just curious, has anyone seen that type of nameplate before? I dont recognize the wings but the photo is too small for a good look.... DBWI36O7RVHVBHIZI4SZ2VHSTE.jpeg The nameplate, based on the shape of the lettering, I'd bet says VICE PRESIDENT and then his name in the row below. But those wings, ...

Yeah, you're right.
They promised to show the others. If they do, I think the winner will come as a surprise to some, once they see what that design beat out....

I know this is ancient thread, but I stumbled across this photo and had to put it here. I have never seen one like this before. It must be a really early one, predating the mission specialist wings.

Re: eBay: SC California Right Stuff Award

I, too, have been unimpressed with awardees of this reward that I have seen over the years. As for a list of those who have been awarded it, I really don't think they ever kept records of this kind of stuff. And as for the people awarded it, I went to a antique store near the old railroad station Mu...

Re: eBay: SC California Right Stuff Award

I saw that when I first got listed, and though it's not terribly expensive, it's more than I do want to pay for one. I've only ever seen this one, and one for the Florida camp, show up on eBay. I nabbed the Florida one, a few years back.
Never have I seen a Huntsville one for sale anywhere.

Re: 2020: who's going to Space Camp?

I think it's probably a given thing, sadly, that nobody is going to be going this year... If there was ever a place where you would likely pick up some sort of disease, other than in a laboratory or hospital, it would be in the Sims at SC. How many of you have been told to be careful touching things...
