Re: 2019?

Hey Campers, I just talked to Carmen (at Space Camp), and she confirmed an adult Advanced Space Academy from 11/3-11/8.

Just thought I'd share. :)

Re: 2019?

Awesome, thanks for the info!

The wife and I are hoping to go back this year for another week long adventure. Last time we did a week was back in 2012.

Thanks again.

Re: 2019?

Can I ask a silly question?
Where are you seeing the week long adult session in Nov? I'm not seeing it on the website?
Thanks.

Re: 2018

Just thought I'd chime in... (big hello to Lin, PK, MajorTom, and P51!!) If the group was to do a week long session, Giggles and I would (Potentially) be on board. We both love Mission Control (Flight Director and EVA are my current favorites), so you wouldn't need to worry about us fighting for a C...

Oh, I'd so do a custom Alumni nametag! Good call.

I also like the Alumni wing idea!

Pin would be cool, but I'd prioritize the first two...

Re: My 4-day SC experience...

I second that! I'm almost scared to go back because it feels like it would be hard to reach the same level of awesomeness as we had that week. But if camp has taught me anything (and it has), I shall overcome the fear! (Especially if we get a reunion together). I'm especially proud of Mel for winnin...

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

Majtom7,

Thanks for the sneak peak (we won't tell anyone; well...as long as they haven't heard of the internet).

Even more excited about camp than I was just an hour ago.

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

Way back in my younger Space Camp adventure days (back in the early '90s) I was the shuttle Commander for an Atlantis mission (this was back when the sim was still in "movie condition"). I remember we had an anomaly on the space station were everyone was getting sick and I asked for permis...

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

Sounds great! See you guys in two weeks. Enjoy The Cape. I was there at the end of 2012 and took the tour of the VAB. Man was that impressive. They had a few test articles for Orion in the main corridor; but I believe they were just there to test the fit (just like the shuttle Pathfinder) and prep f...

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

Well I say then the only way to see if the sim is fixed is to do a test flight. If we do one in October, we will report back to the board. :) Space Camp Orion Flight Test!!! (Full disclosure: Ok, even if there are bugs, I've never done the Orion in all the years I've gone to camp...so I'm really exc...

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

Either way (2 vs 4 teams) we're about 14 days from camp, and you know that's a good sign. I'm happy to be going back to camp!

Even if we aren't on the same team, I'm looking forwarding to meeting you guys.

Re: Adult Advanced Space Academy

I'm in agreement with the everyone here that the scheduling aspect of this decision is baffling. But I am glad they are trying to bring ASA back for adults. My one fear is that due to the last minute nature of offering this camp session that it will not do well and that they will cancel any slots th...

I hope they have the same schedule for the October 4-Day. I've never done an Orion mission, so that sounds great!

Steve,
Yes! I will be there for the 4-days in October.

I look forward to meeting you then. It's always fun to meet people from HAB1 in person. We met Lin in person at camp after talking on here first.

October can't come soon enough. :P

Re: So, who's ready for 2014?

It would be nice if they were able to bring back a few "week-long" sessions for adults. But in the end if 4-days is all they offer, I shall gladly take it. Still, it would be nice if we knew what the differences between the three day and four day programs was (I know this has been said bef...

Space Camp Onion Article

Ok, my wife (another Space Camp Alumni) shared this article with me. It is a great example of why Space Camp's current take on the space program may be better than portraying it 100% accurately. It is better to inspire sometimes than expose people to actual government bureacracy. Disclaimer: For tho...
