Don't get me started on the teasing I take! My family is constantly giving me stuff. I must have a dozen copies of every National Geographic that even MENTIONS space. Sheesh! We don't mind a bit, though, do we? As long as they're thinking about space! --John (aka "Space Cadet" as my niece ...

That's nice, it's good to show you care about the Shuttle program. There's a crew in space, though, and I just think we need to keep them foremost in our minds. I'm struggling with the idea that we'll have to cut back to a crew of two, but it seems to be for the best at this point.

870 days and counting... I wear the pins of crews in space every day on my ID lanyard. I'll wear the Expedition Six pin until they land. Then I'll happily replace it with the Expedition Seven pin. I've got a good ISS pass coming up this Tuesday evening, 3 minutes at about 80 degrees. These days, eve...

Yeah, and I'm a terrible photographer to begin with! :( But the important thing is to take in the sight with your own eyes because the photos will rarely, if ever, do it justice. Still, I'm gonna try that Sat V shot from the top of the UAT tank!

No doubt you've seen those little white calculator-looking things used in the Shuttle cockpit. They're actually 3-channel timers. The real astronauts are constantly timing things. At camp, I would set my watch stopwatch to keep track of how long we had 'til the meteor shower, how long to stay in the...

When I went to see STS-108 launch in Dec. '01, I tried taking photos of the stack on the pad from a distance. My advice: If you want a good photo, buy a calendar!

DON'T forget the headset, AND your trusty penlight!!! I was the only one to remember the first time, but I've got 'em trained now! :)

A stopwatch doesn't hurt either!

One of our team was out on the end of the RMS and somehow got it locked up way above the training room floor. He was stuck for about an hour up there! Funny, since we called him "Inspector Gadget" because he always carried all these fancy hi-tech gadgets and was always having trouble with ...

Yeah, the LUT restaurant, the CM access arm...a lot of plans that were shelved (but not, hopefully, abandoned). A man died building that replica. When they finish those plans some day, it will no doubt be named after him... I was under the impression that the Camp was running at or near the Black th...
