I wouldn't trust many people to use a modified air compressor launcer for something like that. It would be cool though.

Awesome design! I think I considered making a model rocket like this once, but I didn't want to have to deal with a wildly tumbling rocket and/or explosion. I wonder what kind of pressure launch rig you could use...

I have a couple of thoughts on this: one is that I find it a little disturbing that the first comment on the article is by one of those we-didn't-go-to-the-moon idiots. Second is that there is so much going on in the government right now, with so much of it going so poorly, I'm afraid that too much ...

The real equipment is pretty cool. The station mock-up sounds like the disorientating Mir model that used to be at the USSRC. I think it's on loan to the Clinton library or something.

Hey at least they're warm enough to where you won't freeze in the hab. Although my room this year was strikingly similar to a convection oven for two days.

I was surprised when I saw an ad commemorating him. I hadn't realized what happened. It's a shame for him to die so close to the 40th anniversary of the landing.

Al Bean art

I was at the Air and Space Museum in DC today and an exhibit of Al Bean's art opened to coincide with the Apollo 11 anniversary (I assume) and Bean was there signing books etc. I would have bought something to have signed but I didn't have time to wait in line for 90 minutes (but half of them will p...

I found this site while looking for information before the first time I went to camp. I think that mentioning the site on facebook/myspace and on different groups on those sites would help a lot. I'm sure once people know about it they'll be more inclined to join.

That would be one of the few foods that are exceedingly difficult to screw up. I can definetly understand the drooling and such.

It really has to get funded. As far as Orion, we need it as a jumping off point. On an unrelated note has anyone read World War Z by Max Brooks? Yes it's about zombies but one of the sections is about an ISS crew aboard during the "war". I thought it was pretty interesting.

You had a ? next to Alex for alum. If it's the same alex I'm thinking of (currently a counselor?) then I believe he did go. Yeah just some random information I was trying to remember (had an Alex as a counselor this year, he was awesome. He mentioned having gone.).

I was lucky enough to only have one person on the team that nobody could stand each year. Sometimes it's irritating but usually they're not bad people, just not motivated. I think a good deal of people there are type 1 and 2 campers that safety (who I found out is awesome at 4 square this year) list...

I've been talking with someone there right now and they say the davidson center is pretty empty. Maybe they're moving things in preparation for the new Apollo exhibits.

I think that it's a traveling exhibit that stays for a few months but I'm not sure. If it is then hopefully some of that collection will be put up once it leaves.

All of the Apollo related items have been moved to the davidson center, which is getting more exhibits in the months to come. The main museum is not as crowded now with the LM, Command module etc moved. All of the exhibits on Von Braun and such are in the same place.

We pretty much made our disgruntled CATO do the phone work, which was pretty funny to watch. The medical inaccuracies don't bother me too much, since they're so much fun.
