The 'flying machine' is the William Quick monoplane that until recently, hung over Intrepid on the MCC floor! I'm delighted it was moved. Now it will be noticed. I got a chance to meet his granddaughters at the opening of the Davidson Center. Energetic and spunky 90+ year old women! Ah, neat, thank...

I attended a conference at the Davidson Center three weeks ago. When I was there, they weren't quite done with the museum set-up, but the Saturn V looks amazing! http://picasaweb.google.com/lauramseward/Huntsville/photo#5163675260871751314 The Saturn from the front. http://picasaweb.google.com/laura...

I attended a panel discussion yesterday in which Larry Capps, the CEO of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, was one of the panel members. He noted that there are five orbiters on the training center floor, and that Space Camp is currently in negotiations to turn the Shuttle trainers to Constellation ...

New to this site, stumbled in here and I am glad I seem to be in the mid range for the group! 32 years young! Hey, I grew up not to far from Media...Aston to be exact! Welcome to the site. I'm another mid-ranger. :) I'm from Media, too! Lived there all my life until I moved away for college. That's...

Pretty funny, but most definitely an exaggeration. I'm a Yankee from Philadelphia living in Huntsville, and I believe it only got over 100 degrees here for a week in early August. I don't even remember if it hit 100 last summer; it probably did, but not for months! I am a self-professed sun-worshipe...

One thing to remember about KSC, it is a game preserve and there's lots of game - from gators to wild hogs to lots of snakes and lizards. I'd guess that's why the long pants and close toed shoes mandate. Nope. The wildlife stays away from people (other than gators on the side of the road). You have...

Hi Jennifer, The pants are reasonable for the tours you will be given. Shorts are a little too casual (although I'm surprised they aren't allowing capris), wearing a skirt or dress would be an issue since you're climbing open stairs (such as the launch pad and in the OPF if they allow you), and open...

Hello all, Meeting Vincent encouraged me to join this forum. It was a pleasure meeting some of you at the event! The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was an amazing event that I was proud to be part of. My friends couldn't believe I had met such cool people! I even have a unique keepsake: William Sha...
