Heartfelt Thanks and Congratulations for Vincent

20 Years of Hab1, what a great legacy! I know Vincent is personally responsible for my engagement with USSRC as an adult. If not for this site and the board, I would have never gotten into the pipeline with the alumni camps and meeting some of the great friends I have had after my trips to SC/AC/AC ...

Re: Rocket restorations

Just saw the Pathfinder land again on Collect Space. She's showing the years for sure. I guess you don't see all the crud when its up on the stack.

Re: Rocket restorations

OK I know where I went wrong. I'm thinking of the S1 block 1 at MSFS next door. See what happens when you get old!

Re: Rocket restorations

Now, let me first offer a disclaimer, my brain is a pile of mush because of too much stress. But I'm almost certain the Saturn 1 only had a shroud back in the day similar to the block one Saturns that were used for the water shots when they were still testing the Saturn vehicles. I'm going to look a...

Re: Rocket restorations

Wait a second... When did they convert that Saturn1 into a block 2 vehicle? That LES and boilerplate aren't original.

Mysteries Mysteries...

I guess thats what happens when you don't live in AL.

Re: 2019?

BTW, at least one of the train cars at Aviation Challenge held a B-52 sim when it was delivered back in 1993. Full cockpit, nuclear blast curtains, etc. The staff was talking about doing integrated fighter/bomber sims. :) and USSRC cleared it all out to make office space :( I have no idea when or w...

Re: 2019?

This is becoming a pretty interesting thread here. I was reading on MajTom's links. That nuts I didn't hear about the motion sim going to A&M. I was actually living in Houston at that time and participated in a good number of the STS retirement events. I wish I knew they needed money, maybe ther...

We were very fortunate to see her two summers ago with a group of really incredible people. ;) It was a truly remarkable experience and we hope to return sometime soon. I was particularly fascinated by the details of the payloa...

Re: 2019?

Hotdog is talking my language here! You know I wish I was smart enough to figure out a way to borrow all the old orbiter sims on the training floor before they did away with them. When I went back to my first alumni academy, thankfully they let all the alums just have our way and explore all the sim...

Re: 2019?

It will have the same activities with the discussions and briefings being geared toward adults instead of the students. Mar...

Re: 2019?

I'll be there for sure, from the 13th until the 20th. Thursday is Biergarten, Friday is lunch with Hoot Gibson, and there's an astronomy thing going on at the planetarium that evening. Saturday there's a Pass The Torch lecture in the NatGeo theater before the concert. I'm sure there will be other t...

Re: 'Space Shuttle Mission' simulator 2007

It installed and ran in Windows 10 just like it was designed to run natively. I was surprised because of my troubles with W7, but I had seen some posts that indicated that people had no problems, just like me, and I decided to take a chance. https://www.space-shuttle-mission.com/forum/ Take a look a...
