Re: The Future of the Aviation Challenge Bubble

Sorry, my post was not clear. The AC bubble - or at least the open air portion - was replaced back in 2017. That's what I meant by a few years. I just never heard much about the replacement and was hoping someone maybe knew more. I went back through AC's FB page to find some pictures. https://sconte...

Re: Shadow (The counselor)

I know this is out of date, but wow - what a blast from the past. If you're talking about the same Shadow that I think you're talking about, we onboarded together in 2010. His name is Mike. What a trip he was! He was an Army vet if I remember correctly.

Re: The Future of the Aviation Challenge Bubble

Anyone have any details on the new bubble? I know it was replaced a few years ago, but aside from a couple of pictures, im not sure that I ever really saw and specifics around it. It was certainly needed, that much is for sure. The old one was covered in patch jobs and leaked a lot. I'm fairly certa...

Re: Smell

Late to this conversation but there is a perfume called "Twilight Woods" (either Bath & Beauty Works or some generic knock off)- and it smells I swear legit like the Hab. I haven't figured it out. Sweet disinfectant? I'm not sure but I love it. I have spent over a decade thinking I wa...

Re: A Sad Day Indeed...

I know this is an incredibly old post, but I think both railcars are condemned now. When I was a Crew Trainer in 10/11, the far railcar was in fact condemned and locked up tight, but the one closest to the O-Club was still the office. The DMZ for staff was in the back of the land trailer. My first s...

Re: Where is everyone now?

What a world! Vincent helped me reclaim my old account after 10 years! Some of the told stories I'm reading have got me ROLLING! I attended AC five times between 2003 and 2007 as Mach II, Mach III, and Mach III-12 Day (Now Elite). I was fortunate enough to go back as a Crew Trainer in 2010 and 2011 ...

im embarrassed to admit that I've had that VHS for a number of years now. I think I last watched it when I was in high school and home sick. Yearning of a view of the good ole USSRC.
Bugged me though how they were walking on the grass. We're not allowed to walk on the grass lakeside....brats

This is fantastic news! I was lucky enough to get to go to 12-day in 2007 and even though I was too old to go back, I was sad to see the program go. This is great news for campers and the future of Aviation Challenge!

AC Alumni in Space Camp Hall of Fame

Hey Congratulations to Josh "Safety" Whitfield on being inducted into the Space Camp Hall of Fame! He's AC's first I think to make it! If you dont know Josh, take my word for it, he's and awesome guy and 110% deserving of this!

When I went to summer camp, you could get your laundry done (they charged you, but it was reasonable). If space camp is going to do multi week sessions, they should cut a deal with a local cleaner to do the same. They dont do laundry anymore, we had to sweet talk a counselor who I think lived off s...

Granite just happens to be very fond of the dear Phantom, as am I. Though we had one very unpleasant meeting with the Phantom this last summer, we had plenty of good ones, and I was lucky enough to spend my last few minutes as an AC trainee sitting with the Phantom. If I recall we happened to be sta...

This is interesting stuff, even for a proud member of the US "Chair Force". I think a lot of us AC junkies are also jet junkies, so its always good to hear about this kind of stuff! THANKS!
