This is what I have heard about this horrible tragedy. When it was launched, a piece of the external tank broke off and hit the heat sheild. Now they arent sure if the heat sheild was damaged or not. I also find it very strange that the shuttle went down over Palestine, TX. Was this just a coinciden...
