Sandrat...I didn't know you worked up there! I was born and raised in Colorado Springs. Never did get the chance to visit NORAD. =\ I really did enjoy the private airshows over our house, though. The flight pattern for AFA games and graduations went right over our house. So did the pattern for Pete ...

Ah, Sky Warriors. Talk about a heck of a ride!!! I was fortunate enough to participate in the SW program three of the four times that I attended AC. Memories I will never forget. The guys that ran SW were pure gold. They knew how to have fun and how to motivate all the AC kids. I've got all three se...

Another Gump Moment: Early early spring (middle of winter) January morning and the Basic (Mach II) kids are off to firecraft. Gump returns from Land Survival support more than thirty minutes after he should have - minus most of his eyebrows. Me: What happened to you? Gump: I was making sure the fir...

UPDATE: My friend and I tried multiplayer today. It was a blast!! My friend set up a server at his house and I connected over the internet. Took us less than five minutes to get it started. :D When you enter a hosted server, you simply pick what jet/helicopter you want, select your weapons, pick you...

Free flight Simulator!!!

Ever since AC I've never been satsified with any combat simulator available on the market. There are still nice ones out there I haven't tried, but typically they all put emphasis on the wrong things, making it more of a video game experience than a flight sim. A while ago I installed "Flight G...

Again, I know this is an old thread, but I just have to add to this. All four years that I went to AC we either shared our hobbies or told embarrassing stories after which our call signs were voted on by team members. Ten years is a LONG time and I’ve forgotten a lot of details about AC, so this lis...

The following is a vague recollection of an actual phone message left on the Aviation Challenge answering machine during the summer of 1996. This phone call happened early one afternoon, and I think it's safe to say we are all glad we were not in the office. During 1996, Aviation Challenge had a re...

A day that went down in infamy. Not only the rocket launching...but the retaliation that followed.

Re: Wow

Ask and you shall receive. Give us a day or two to piece together how the incident you are talking about happened. There were several over the years, but I think I remember what you're talking about. :) If you have any questions as to the details of the story, feel free to PM me. I've told the stor...

Simulator software?

Just curious, what software has AC been using for the sims over the years? What were they using back in the mid-90's for the Intermediate program back when they had the F-4 and F-16 cockpits? What advancements have been made since then in the simulators? I figure it can only get better as time goes ...

Wow

I just found this website. What a trip down memory lane! I attended AC each summer from '94 to '97. I had such humiliating call signs as "woody", "catwalk", and "boo", but most people there knew me by the name "Hawke" (thanks, Spanky!) I have so many memories ...
