Re: Heartfelt Thanks and Congratulations for Vincent
Congratulations, Vincent! This page has been a huge part of my camp experience. I continue to read each update to the main page and check the forums on a regular basis (though not as regular with school this year).

Re: Rocket restorations
The Saturn I looks beautiful. They did a great job with the restoration. I really look forward to Pathfinder’s restoration. Back when the foam was original, not painted over, we would count the pennies stuck in the foam from people throwing them at the ET. Anyway, I have many good memories of the Sa...

Re: Save Space Camp Campaign
Boeing just donated $500,000! The current fundraising progress is at just over $1.1 million in three days. There is still a ways to go, but it is promising that their goal will be met in time. There have also been some humorous Space Camp movie references in the donations, like 'Hideo Takamini' and ...

Re: eBay: SC California Right Stuff Award
Of any SC memorabilia, I feel this one needs to be earned, not bought, unless you are replacing one that was lost or damaged.

Re: Movie patch, real or replica?
It looks like it has stitching holes to me. It's subtle, and on the front they would have been within the merrowed edge.blachwk wrote:Out of curiosity, was this patch used or not used? (Pin holes from stitching, wear, etc?) I could not quite tell from the photos.

Re: Euro Space Center
Thank you for the updates. What does the shuttle name AMICITIA translate to in English? I am happy to hear they still have space shuttle simulators and missions. The futuristic missions at US Space Camp are good, but require more imagination since the real spacecraft are still development themselves...

Saturn 1 For Sale!
https://ascienceenthusiast.com/nasa-giving-away-apollo-era-saturn-rocket-anyone-wants/ Wait, what?!?! The link in the article, to obtain NASA artefacts, doesn't list the Saturn 1, so it may have been a hoax or already sold, but still! I'm sure my parents' property is big enough. It's significantly c...
Re: 2019?
What museum is that, I need to put it on my list of things to do in Seattle. It's at the Museum of Flight. We spent a full day there and it wasn't enough. I would recommend the Boeing tour as well. I have not had the pleasure of doing it yet, but everyone I know who has done it won't stop talking a...
Re: 2019?
https://i.imgur.com/71KrCbl.jpg They offer tours of the one in Seattle. We were very fortunate to see her two summers ago with a group of really incredible people. ;) It was a truly remarkable experience and we hope to return sometime soon. I was particularly fascinated by the details of the payloa...

Re: Space Camp For Educators
I can only assume it's for formal educators only, but if you want to know for sure - give them a call and ask to speak with Heather on extension 5639. She's in charge of the educator programmes. It's possible they accept non-formal educators as well. Members of the general public with no teaching ex...
Re: 2019?
I always wish the docent tour was longer, around 2 or 3 hours... I could listen to them all day long. That sounds like such a short weekend, but packed with activities for new campers. The last morning seems a bit anticlimactic. I'm sure many repeat campers would enjoy it, too, but some may find it ...
Re: 2019?
Sounds like you need to send your son to camp the week of 13-20 July and add a few days on either end to attend the special events.

Re: 'Space Shuttle Mission' simulator 2007
You can download software that can simulate an older operating system. I don't know what it is called, but I know it's a work-around. In Windows, you used to be able to 'open as...' (or something similar) and select an older operating system version as well. I used to do that when older programme wo...
Re: IMAX :-(
Wow, this looks like a wonderful upgrade. Well done, USSRC. Though, I will admit I enjoyed watching the three Space Camp films over and over in the corridor when I had down time. But, Hubble and Chandra have a special place in my heart, too.
