Early Photos

Re: Early Photos
This topic just has me looking for old pictures all over the internet of space camp. Here is an interesting article i;d say circa no earlier than 1990 which is i believe when the Space Station Mobility trainer pictured in the first photo of the article came into use. Also has a couple other pics one of which again i believe is the Atlantis flight deck. Just an interesting look at camp programs of the time. http://gtalumni.org/Publications/techto ... space.html

Re: Early Photos
As promised, here are a few old photos from my personal experiences at Space Camp. The quality of these scans aren't that great. When I have more time, I will make better scans of these and others from my collection.

Me and Tim Overby atop S-IC test stand, Academy Level II, 1994. The Saturn V Dynamic Test Stand can be seen in the background.
Saturn I first stage at MSFC, 1989
Me in the Commander's seat of Enterprise, 1994. The bandage and gauze I am wearing are from the medical treatment my crew gave me for burns from having to put out a fire that broke out during our mission. The thumbs-up from the pilot is the "go for re-entry".

A shot from the lunar landscape as a Space Camp team photo was being taken, 1989. Note the blue banners. This was during the 20th Anniversary of Apollo 11 which was going on that summer.

I'm trying to remember where the Minuteman was displayed when it was at Sprocket. Was it not outside in the rocket park? Fuzzy part of my memory bank...

Re: Early Photos
On related note, I noticed a stop light-looking device near where the Saturn v used to stand. Any idea what that was used for?
Re: Early Photos
I stumbled across this site with some great Space Camp photos from 1987. Most of the training appears to have been in the old bubble, but you can see the new TCF being set up. There's also a nice image of the External Tank that was on the MSFC tour at that time.

The thumbnails are very blurry, but clicking on them gets you the larger, clear images.
